Santa Monica-based Leaf Group , which is led by Sean Moriarty, said on Thursday that it has acquired home decor brand Deny Designs. for Deny Designs, split between $6.7M Deny Designs was based in Denver, Colorado. Leaf Group said it paid $12.0M in cash plus approximately 215,000 shares of its common stock.

We looked at other sites, such as Cross Campus Santa Monica, and we saw the events they were running, which we went to a lot before they opened a location here. There are clusters of companies in San Gabriel, clusters growing Glendale, there are companies in Monrovia, Orange County, and out to Santa Monica and Silicon Beach.

A move to more urban environments (SF over SV, Cambridge over Waltham, London over Thames Valley, Santa Monica / Venice, Flatiron and so forth) as basically young people want to live where young people want to live. So the startup work moves to where the startup founders live and not vice versa. I wish every city could have an 1871.
