We were looking for what I call the “6 C’s of Social Networking&# – Communications, connectedness, common experiences, content, commerce & cool experiences (fun!). They had a proprietary browser, their own search engine, their own content, chat rooms, email system, etc. in terms of time spent on the sites.

The main things I like to look at are new versus return visitors, top content pages, what pages are causing bounces, etc. For example, there might be a series of flows in how users come into the site, starting with ads, SEO, or otherwise. Content creation? Most sites don’t have to deal with this so I’ll stop here!
