We caught up with founder Evan Rifkin --who previously founded and sold TagWorld/Flux to MTVN in November of 2008--to learn more about the startup. We cater to mobile phone developers--right now the iPhone, and coming soon to Android. Mark Suster lead GRP's investment in the firm, and Jim Andelman led Rincon's investment.

The “private sale” market phenomenon was started in France by Vente-Privee (literally means “private sale”) and was replicated in Germany by BrandsforFriends. Gilt Group is currently the largest private sale web site in US. Founded in August 2008 in Palo Alto, CA, by Sam Christiansen and Keith Lee. Time will tell.

LP contributions to VC firms shrunk from 2000 and by 2005-2008 had stabilized to around $30 billion per year. Mobile devices deliver “bottom of funnel” sales opportunities that deliver real & immediate economic results. Bottom of the sales funnel. Web businesses can now grow revenue before they can even afford sales people.
