As a result of the IPO window shifting we saw a massive inflow of public-market capital into the latest stages of venture. What gives?

This was really a fun week at TWiVC because we decided to have an entrepreneur come and talk about raising capital rather than having a VC come on. Raised angel money from Rob Lord, Reid Hoffman, Benchmark Capital and others. Current round: $8.1mm in Series C by S3 Ventures (lead), Adams Capital Mgmt, Triangle Peak Partners.

It launched open API’s and created a platform whereby third-party developers could come build any app they wanted and Facebook didn’t even want (yet) to take any money from them to do so. Twitter seems to have become a bit allergic to third-party developers (or maybe vice-versa). Social Networking is Becoming Mobile.

Yes, social networks of 2010 have much better usability, have better developed 3rd-party platforms and many more people are connected. It launched open API’s and created a platform whereby third-party developers could come build any app they wanted and Facebook didn’t even want (yet) to take any money from them to do so.
