By 2012, total sales exceeded 50 million copies and founding band member Roger Waters was cited by Forbes as the second highest paid musician of the year, pulling in $88 million. Entrepreneurs can learn a great deal from the manner in which Pink Floyd created DSOTM. Entrepreneurs should always err on the side of long-term gain.

A class we produce here at General Assembly called “Intro to the LA Startup Community” , has turned into a series, each time presented by a different prominent person in the startup ecosystem providing a unique perspective on the tech scene in LA. Sam taught a second rendition of the class in February and over 700 people signed up.

For some reason, the 2012 Atlantic article, “ Why Women Still Can’t Have It All ,” has always fueled me. And not just the token two children, but to actually be the one who volunteered in their classes and screamed at them to stop picking flowers on the soccer field. I wanted the career and the family.

I recommend that you start by writing down the attributes you would want people to think about when they think about your brand. World-class education including Caltech, USC and UCLA. Like they truly understood entrepreneurs. The way I think about branding anything is simple: Define the Attributes You Want to Project.

They offer classes in personal responsibility and accountability, they teach men to forgive themselves and to forgive the people who perpetrated them as children because they all grew up surrounded by bad influences. Catherine (Cat) Hoke founded the program in 2010 and launched the business plan competition in 2012.
