So, I thought I''d see if there was an interest here to active a community in town. People might be willing to do that for major events, but that''s too high a barrier for people to be actively engaged in the Silicon Beach community. It used to be 45 minutes away, but now it''s an hour or hour and a half.

Greg was the first person to share with me the insights of mobile conversion and why with a simpler product selection and conversion funnel they would get higher conversion on mobile than on the web. He was also the first one to challenge my conventional wisdom that it made no sense for tech companies to advertise on television.

I meet with Bay Area entrepreneurs all the time and am actively looking to make investments there. That sets us up nicely for the next phase of the web. Each of these companies exited for more than $500 million and several north of $1 billion. But you can build valuable Internet businesses outside of Silicon Valley.

I re-connected with Andy Liu the founder & CEO of BuddyTV – the largest destination for social TV enthusiasts on the web. We have all of the 2nd-time entrepreneurs from Overture, CitySearch, MySpace, etc. They haven’t launched their next gen product – watch this space. billion.
