Los Angeles-based online advertising technology provider OpenX announced this morning that it has appointed Douglas McPherson, the former General Counsel of Idealab, as its new Chief Legal Officer. I’m just not sure you can build a great technology firm outside of Bay Area.&#. In Silicon Valley you have mega venture capital funds who have a history of giving $20 million to early-stage technology companies hoping to swing for the fences and become the next Google, Facebook or Twitter. You just don’t. Get over it.
