As a software developer I wrote code on what was called a “dumb terminal” because it literally had no processing capability. We ran software on the PCs called “terminal emulation” that allowed us to act like a dumb terminal to interact with mainframes and to act like a PC (with word processing, spreadsheets, etc.

The result of web design are static pages as graphics or HTML. Craigslist - He also considered advertising on Craigslist, but again was concerned about quality. The LA CTO Forum , which I help organize, has more than 100 Software/Web CTOs from all sorts of companies. And he’s right there’s a big difference.

Rahul Sonnad: It runs on iPhone, Google Android, and will be running on a netbook with a major OEM this April, and in the near future you'd expect it to run on HTML alone. Once I had that, it was clear to me that putting some software linking that with the Internet would be very powerful. This runs on a number of platforms?

By the mid-nineties we had the World Wide Web, which gave us a standard way to publish web pages using HTML.
