Hollywood-based Buzz Media the venture backed content, media, and community site, has made more cuts , this time at the firm's Idolator blog. According to a post by one of its editors earlier this month, the site has cut "pretty much all" of Idolator's contributing writers, including columnists and daily bloggers.

Los Angeles-based Uber, the online social networking web site run by former Friendster CEO Scott Sassa, has shut down. According to the firm's web site, as of September 29, the firm's investors have decided to stop supporting the site, and the company has closed its doors. Uber blamed the crisis in the economy for the shutdown.

Buzznet operates an online social networking and social media site focused on music and bands, and is backed by Anthem Ventures, Interscope, Redpoint Ventures, and others.
