My background was 8 years of telecoms & mobile and 8 years of cloud computing & SaaS – so these two themes were a given. Every generation of new technology and new media starts out by emulating those that came before them without realizing that things are fundamentally different when you change media types.

A very interesting topic, especially for those of us involved in developing for start-ups. The basic conclusion was that it was a bit premature if you were talking about a serious, funded start-up. Most likely, a Level 2 platform's apps also call into the platform via a web services API to draw on data and services.
