My background was 8 years of telecoms & mobile and 8 years of cloud computing & SaaS – so these two themes were a given. Banner ads were never very effective on web pages so it baffles me that it’s the preferred method of advertising today on mobile devices. They’ve earned a relationship with me.

WebEx was the early leader in web meetings. Companies purchased keywords, placed ads and sent emails in an attempt to entice users to complete a lead form. Cloud computing pioneer RightScale is a prime example of a company which utilized a consultative go-to-market strategy as a means of funding its initial operations.
