Unfortunately, work and satisfaction have become an oxymoron in many businesses. I loved it when my boss gave me the additional responsibility of mentoring others in solving tough problems. Provide tools and resources as required. The challenge for many bosses is to recognize when their team should be coaching them. Look for a mentor, or expert in this area, and ask their advice. Forget about assigning blame until later, since that will only complicate matters and make it an emotional battle.

Everyone has some degree of strengths blindness, and will likely benefit from one of many tools, such as the Clifton StrengthsFinder. You can’t lead a business to success, if you can’t lead yourself.
