In what might be some new competition for Santa Monica-based Rubicon Project , the high profile ad optimization firm headed by Frank Addante, search engine giant Google told its advertisers late Wednesday that it will begin to offer similar capabilities in its AdSense program. Does Rubicon see Google entree into the market as competition?

The customer gets a great price, and the retailer gets both a new customer and a new sale. You can walk into any audio/video store, including Best Buy or Home Depot, and negotiate with the sales or customer service representative. I started by career at Yahoo, and also worked at Intermix.

I had also spent five years at Overture and Yahoo, going back to the Goto.com days. I was recruited for the role when we were still at AT&T Interactive in October of 2008, by some of my former coworkers at Yahoo, who had already landed here. How did what was a staid publisher of phone books become a hotbed of online talent?

Tim is the former head of Yahoo's Global Advertising Marketplaces unit, overseeing Display, Search and Video, and was VP of Search at Overture. We manage that competition through an aucton process. Our customer footprint, as I mentioned, is huge. How is the competitive landscape is nowadays? We've grown a ton.
