You’ll get sales information from your VP of Sales, marketing information from your VP Marketing, tech information from your CTO and so on. It might tell you that you need better sales training or to hone your key selling messages. If my CTO would have given me his update much detail would have been lost in translation.

I started as a teenager, and I did babysitting, life guarding, and swim coaching. How did you handle going from a background in child care, to developing and app and figuring out the technology side of things? We've had a lot of advisors along the way, in the financial and technology realm, which has helped us with everything.

A number of years ago, myself and some of my colleagues in the entertainment industry developed a nonprofit workplace in Hollywood. We raised a bunch of money, and funded training programs for underserved communities for entry level jobs, which would lead to careers in the entertainment industry.

We have some great mentors now. Thanks to TechStars, we've got an awesome mentor who's co-habitating with us now, and we're learning something daily from him. We're trying to build a center-of-mass on the East side, to draw talented developers and designers, to recruit more effectively, and reinvest in the local ecosystem.
