I had a recent email dialog with the founder of a company looking for a CTO for their startup. We had several emails back and forth where he provided basic details on the concept. Did they really need a Startup CTO or Developer or both? Did they really need a Startup CTO or Developer or both?

He is not a technical person, but is somewhat web savvy. I asked some of the same questions I ask in my Free Startup CTO Consulting Sessions and then I get to a very common conversation: Me : Do you have specs? And in the case of defining mobile/web/software, there is even more variability in terms of form and format.

I acted as the occasional mentor, advisor and coach to Ethan. And in a world where we increasingly log in to personal web time at late hours or on our mobile phones that’s no longer good enough. The company was called Red Beacon. I was standing with him when he won the TechCrunch 50 award.

I reviewed an email from Kara Nortman, the CEO of Moonfrye who is working on putting together venture debt. I then traded emails with two former senior tech professionals in LA. And I spoke with the CTO of another great company I used to be on the board of and enlisted his support in potentially being an advisor to one company.

One, is the discovery of awesome content, two is a place to store and publicize that awesome content, and three is being able to save your usernames and passwords to literally any site on the web, and automatically log you into those sites.
