What price? The sheer number of relationships I’ve built through being public, transparent and being willing to engage in comments and through social media has enabled me to get to know entrepreneurs even before they launch their next company. So I stand by my well-read Quora post of why I don’t attend demo days.

The Founder needs to remember that meetings up to this point have been primarily off-site, with staged demos, and managed personally by the CEO or a small team. Make sure everyone accurately posts their role with your startup on social media profiles, resumes, and references. My best advice is to stick to the middle ground.

Here’s some clever methods to do so: When signing up for a trial or a demo, NEVER buy right away. Use social media when disgruntled about a refund and you will get the fastest response ever. Look at the “price per ounce” at the grocery store for the best savings. We all want to save money.

Be sure to involve real people and real customers, such as GoPro cameras , with user generated demos and amazing aspirational videos. Innovative marketing content is focused wholly on healthy living and earth-conscious eating, rather than the conventional food product offerings and price. Market an image of exclusivity or premium only.
