Los Angeles-based Big Stage Entertainment , a venture-backed startup developing 3D animation technology used to create avatars, said this morning that the firm has created a new application which works on the Apple iPhone. The firm said that users can also post and share that content to Facebook, MySpace, or via email.

In the bay area it’s quite common for the entrepreneurs starting a company to be developers or technologists who can build the first versions of their products. That’s typically not the case in Los Angeles. Simply put LA has a lack of GREAT product, UI/UX, and design talent. It’s a chicken and egg problem.
