My firm, GRP Partners, invested in the company that innovated this entire category – Overture (formerly known as GoTo.com). I believe that many social networks confused this idea. They already had a completed product and a distribution deal with the largest affiliate network company, Commission Junction.

Jason Calacanis started this initiative in response to the pay-to-play network of angel events that he despised. I’m a huge supporter of his initiative to help end this practice. I suppose I should keep it to myself but I guess Jason will be helping to hype up all the companies anyways.
