Define realistic metrics to keep track of progress. You need metrics to incentivize the right team behaviors. You as a leader must be transparent about how and why you are investing in one initiative over the other. Invest in communication skills and use all platforms. If you can’t measure it, you can’t manage it.

But the most important metric has been the deep and lasting relationships that have been built with startups and also between senior executives. But wait, does that make Launchpad LA an incubator now? There are at least 6 incubators now being set up in LA. 23 companies have gone through Launchpad LA.

I do think the way we work with companies is a little different from other programs, in that we view it much more like the wasyI personally think about investing and venture capital.
