Newport Beach-based Mindspeed Technologies , a developer of semiconductor products, announced today that it has rolled out a version of its Comcerto processors specifically geared towards voice-over-IP processing. Mindspeed said its Comcerto 300xv is sampling now and will go into volume production in the second half of the year.

Vitesse said its new, PON Pro chipset is aimed at triple-play services and FTTH systems deployment in IP edge networks, and is sampling now. Camarillo-based Vitesse Semiconductor reported today that it has launched two new chips, one aimed at the Fiber-to-the-Home market, the other for 40G/100G networks.

We've got four generation of parts in the market, with three in production, and the fourth sampling--with a fifth in design. However, as that evolved, as a management team we did a good job going after that with our IP, and that piece went well. Two years ago, we also started seeing interest in energy measurement for devices.
