The startup, headed by Matt Sandler, was voted tops out of eight total companies who pitched their startups to attendees and judges at the Los Angeles area technology event.

Santa Monica-based Tsavo , the online media company which owns Manolith, Twirlit, Kidglue, and Nibbledish, has lost its Vice President of Product and Design, Mike Macadaan. Macadaan is well known in the Los Angeles technology community for creating and running Twiistup, the popular Los Angeles technology networking and startup showcase event.

I recently hosted a panel at the Twiistup Conference about LA tech companies. In the bay area it’s quite common for the entrepreneurs starting a company to be developers or technologists who can build the first versions of their products. Simply put LA has a lack of GREAT product, UI/UX, and design talent.

One of the recent trends in the technology industry here in Los Angeles is the use of "coworking" spaces--flexible workspaces where companies can rent open office space. Jerome Chang: An example: we have a four person production firm, which moved into our space in July, but found that had to increase to six people soon after.
