Gottlieb Reportedly On Tap to Lead FDA, and Biopharma Exhales

The 44-year-old Gottlieb is a physician, a venture partner at New Enterprise Associates, and was also the deputy commissioner of medical and scientific affairs at the FDA between 2005 and 2007, during George W. Bush’s administration. Gottlieb is also a resident fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, a conservative think tank.

Internet Brands Brisco: Deal Will Allow More Focus On Long Term Growth

In a blog post , Brisco said that the firm decided to become a private firm again, because it would be a "good deal" for shareholders, and also said it could become "even more focused" on long-term growth. The firm changed its name to Internet Brands in June of 2005, and hit the markets with its IPO in November of 2007.

Senate Vote Confirms Scott Gottlieb for FDA Commissioner

From 2005 to 2007, he worked as the FDA’s deputy commissioner of medical and scientific affairs under President George W. He succeeds former FDA commissioner Robert Califf, who stepped down in January after President Donald Trump took office. Gottlieb is already familiar with the agency he will oversee.
