If you follow the tech media you would be subject to a lot of narrative biases that are completely off base – and this includes the value of email and phone calls. I’m sure you’ve heard the meme that “email is dead” – if fact if you Google it you’ll find a long list of articles that will mislead you.

Invest more heavily in platform services. Move our offices to Santa Monica so we could be closer to the early-stage companies being created in LA. From 2007-2012 I scoured LA constantly. I also noticed that inbound emails were no longer directed at just me. He’s pushed us to be out in the community more.
