One of the investment themes I’ve been focused on in the past 3 years has been Performance-Based Marketing. When I started investing the US advertising market was $300 billion with only 10% of it ($30 billion) of it being online and measurable. This no doubt led to the acquisition of AdMob by Google and Quattro by Apple.

Domeyer recently told us how mobile visitors to the web are dramatically changing how Oversee looks at the market, and are pushing the firm to invest more in technology to adapt to mobile users. If someone goes to a certain domain now, instead of seeing a CPC advertisement, we could instead offer them to download different apps.

That will primarily be focused on ad sponsorships, and selling advertising via lead generation, CPC, white papers, and so on, to generate revenue. Entertainment is confusing--we didn't make investments in pure content plays. On the other side, we had about one third of our investments in early stage, technology driven companies.
