Los Angeles-based online media firm Tsavo Media , which was founded by Mike Jones, founder of Userplane and current co-President of MySpace, has been sold for $75M to a Canadian firm. According to Toronto-based Cyberplex , it is acquiring Tsavo and its 300 consumer websites for $75M. READ MORE>>.

Santa Monica-based Tsavo Media , the online media venture of former Userplane founder Michael Jones, announced Thursday that it has acquired an online, user-generated recipe site called OpenSourceFood. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Yongfook will join Tsavo as part of the acquisition.

The firm announced the division Tuesday afternoon, saying that its new Tsavo Agency will provide search engine marketing and content monetization services for companies.

Santa Monica-based Tsavo Media, the new startup venture of former Userplane founder Michael Jones, said Tuesday that it has named Steve Schepke as General Manager of Tsavo Agency, a new unit focused on providing monetization services to content providers. According to Tsavo, Schepke joins Tsavo from Commission Junction.

According to Tsavo, Better provides SEO and PPC management to such clients at Paramount, Dreamworks, and Closet World.
