Google had no clue that they were going to make so much money in sponsored search. They came to me 2 years ago with their company, GumGum , and were trying to raise an A round of capital. They had signed up Gawker Media and the New York Post. They had signed up Glam Media and TMZ. I really respect these guys.

The old media companies were resistant to change. Early on GumGum began to experiment with overlaying rich media ads through Flash with photos until technology progressed and they moved over to Javascript. Buying Google keywords will be popular and expensive. Much bigger.
