I want to invest in entrepreneurs that have the capacity to be number one at whatever they are doing, and do it within our skill base, which is direct-to-consumer. Many startups now go through accelerators and have mentors passing through each day with advice – usually it’s conflicting. This is generally how I try to organize my own views and how I try to give advice. Everybody has a blog these days and there is much advice to be had. What is a founder to do? Draw from Frameworks.

1) Get A Mentor. "I Ignorance is not bliss in business, but it does allow entrepreneurs to face the unknown with a measure of confidence. No 19-year old understands business at the level of a seasoned, serial entrepreneur. " I recently performed a 360-Review on two Co-Founders who were the company's CEO and CTO.

Most people think that the Peter Principle (employee rises to his level of incompetence) only applies to large organizations. There I see founders and managers who are stalled transplants from large organizations, and technologists trying to run the business. Provide mentoring and formal management training.

If you're like many people, you're having more and more public conversations, but there is no tool out there similar to Gmail which a lot of people use to organize their whole life. We have some great mentors now. The other reason for building it, is LA is crapped on all the time from a press perspective and entrepreneur perspective.
