Southwest Airlines and satellite television provider DISH said today that they will begin offering free, live TV and on-demand TV access to Southwest Airlines customers. The new service comes thanks to a local company, Westlake Village-based Row 44 , which offers up in-flight entertainment and connectity systems.

Westlake Village-based in-flight Wi-Fi equipment provider Row 44 , which is now a subsidiary of Global Eagle Entertainment, reported this morning that it has deployed its systems on 60 Norwegian Air Shuttle Boeing 737-800''s. The provider of satellite-based Wi-Fi services said its systems are now installed on nearly 500 aircraft.
