Earlier this month, Los Angeles-based startup Worlize (www.worlize.com) announced it had received a seed round of funding, and launched a firm to focus on social gaming and chat. The firm's CEO is Brian McKelvey , who we caught up with recently to learn more about his background, the firm, and the market it hopes to serve.

At the tender age of 15, Tanz teamed up with his friend Michael Schneider (the CEO of MobileRoadie ), to create the design firm Fluid Design. Early on GumGum began to experiment with overlaying rich media ads through Flash with photos until technology progressed and they moved over to Javascript. from Carnegie Mellon University.

So eventually you have your company funded but only 2 of the 5 people who started the company are still around. Your contractor wrote a great V1 of the product and it helped you get angel funding. I know he’s smart but you wouldn’t hire a Javascript developer to do your database design – would you?
