Long Beach-based manufacturing software developer Apriso reported a win today, with aerospace manufacturer Spirit AeroSystems. Apriso said that the manufacturer and designer of aerospace structures is using the firm's software to improve its manufacturing operations. Financial impact of the win was not disclosed.

Long Beach-based Apriso , the developer of software for managing manufacturing operations, said this week that it has debuted a new product. The firm said its Packaging Solution for Global Manufacturer was designed specifically for handling language, labeling, and material tracking requirements for those manufacturers.

Long Beach-based Cie Games , which publishes the Car Town mobile and social games, has named two new executives this morning. I went to college at K-State, and then I started with a little Internet development company, W3 Design, which became USWeb Los Angeles. I ended up doing a lot of different things, and was an executive at Sony, and had lots of software and marketing roles over time. That was where this company came from. We're on year two now.

Now, we''re looking at Southern California because there''s lots of talent in the area of design, and we also want to start targeting enterprises here who want to start sourcing products in Asia. And, because there are many companies in Long Beach and sourcing operations here, it really made sense to open up operations in Southern California.
