Santa Monica-based Factual , the open data startup headed by Gil Elbaz, the inventor of Google's AdSense technology, said today that it has launched a new open set of data that the firm says provides geo-coded data for 14 million local U.S. businesses. READ MORE>>.

Teams reconvened Saturday morning at 9:00 AM and continued to code and build their startup throughout the day. It was also a very special Startup Weekend LA as we were joined by Cameron Rasouli (SWLA Co-organizer and Founder of Coloft) and Avesta’s soon-due twins (8 weeks to go!) By 10:00 PM, teams were working away into the night.

Adam Miller transformed his company into one of the world’s leading software-as-a-service companies, specifically in the HR world. Google quickly bought AdSense in 2003 and Elbaz’s AS team became Google Santa Monica. Elbaz’ AdSense accounted for 28 percent of Google’s total revenue, or more than $2 billion. Howard Marks.
