Santa Monica-based Tecca said today that it has launched a new, personal electronics shopping and information service with the backing of Best Buy Co. Tecca's software currently runs on Apple iPhone and Google Android devices, and the firm said it will be offering up mobile web, PC, and tablet versions later this fall.

Last week, Santa Monica-based Tecca (www.tecca.com) launched a consumer electronics, consumer information service, backed by Fuse Capital and Best Buy. The service--currently only available on iPhone and Android--allows users to find reviews and information about consumer electronics products. What was behind that decision?

Rahul Sonnad: We did a seed round with Clearstone Ventures, that incubated us in their Santa Monica office.

I moved to the Santa Monica office of Microsoft Consulting Service. There are lots of incubators here-- practically every school or municipality has some kind of incubator--but they don't have an accelerator. The incubator isn't really as focused, and sometime might be more focused on low cost space.

Erik Rannala: MuckerLab is a new startup accelerator, focused on incubation stage Internet, software, services, and media businesses here in LA. He created one of the first industrial R&D labs, and hired and brought in a bunch of investors to help iterate, and experiment, and build new products. Erik, thanks for the time.
