Hulu To Carry Epix After Netflix Falling Out

Los Angeles-based streaming television site Hulu scored a major win this weekend, and has inked a deal with television network Epix , after Netflix said it would not renew and existing deal with Epix for its content. Epix--known for its Hollywood movie lineup--is a joint venture of MGM, Lions Gate Entertainment, and Paramount.

LA Times Vets Launch Ebyline, Gain Angel Funding

Los Angeles-based Ebyline said today that it has launched a new online marketplace targeted at news publishers and professional journalists, which helps publishers manage freelance writers. The firm said it is backed by un-named Los Angeles angel investors, and was founded by former Los Angeles Times journalists.
