Visa Completes Verifi Acquisition

Payment giant Visa announced this morning that it has completed its acquisition of Los Angeles-based Verifi , which develops software and technology to reduce chargebacks for vendors who take credit cards. Verifi had been led by CEO Matthew Katz, and was founded in 2005. Visa said Verifi already serves more than 25,000 accounts.

The Tech Coast Angels , Southern California's biggest angel investment group, said Tuesday that it has seen a successful exit in MindBody , the developer of cloud-based business management software for the wellness industry. TCA said its members first invested in MindBody in 2005, and saw a 42x return at IPO on their investment.

Financial details of the acquisition were not announced. FastSpring was founded in 2005, and is led by CEO Chris Lueck. FastSpring had been backed by Los Angeles-based investment firm Pylon Capital, and counts such customers as Adobe and Microsoft. FastSpring was advised by Raymond James in the deal.
