The company uses advertising to recommend products and services to users, based on individual interests and what it is calling "audience graph analysis."

Local.com Names New COO

Sawtell was SVP and GM of the firm's Sales and Advertiser Services business unit, and also has been President and COO from 2000 to 2005. Sawtell replaces Bruce Crair, who the firm said is leaving the firm to pursue other opportunities. Local.com recently acquired Rovion from DigitalPost.

ValueClick Sells Web Clients Business

Westlake Village-based web advertising firm ValueClick said late Monday that it has divested its Web Clients promotional lead generation business. ValueClick said the move is part of a strategy to grow its core online marketing services and technology. ValueClick acquired its Web Clients business in 2005 for approximately $141M.
