Patrick Kennedy: Sidebar is a company that was founded to bring consumers personalized content, focused on mobile delivery of that content. I joined about a year ago--a bunch of us did--and looked at where Sidebar was as it was gearing up for a full consumer launch of its personalized content portal. What is Sidebar all about?

We're now doing around 20 million people a month to Docstoc, and wanted to leverate that to create a marketplace where you could buy and sell professional content. Do you screen all of the documents on the marketplace, or how does that work? Jason Nazar: We screen the profiles, but we don't screen the content.

I do regular (almost daily) “Snapstorms” of content around one topic for entrepreneurs and VCs. The starting screen every time is the camera. Look at the top of your screen in the middle and you’ll see the Snapchat ghost. If you look at the bottom of your screen you’ll see buttons in each bottom corner.

I had been selling large content management systems and storing documents for industrial-scale customers. It’s the input screens where we enter data or search requests. It’s the screens that pop up our restaurant locations, calculate our exercise outputs or show us our bank balances. I was dead set against it.
