Santa Monica-based FlipGloss , which develops online photo publishing software for the magazine industry, has been acquired by Forbes. FlipGloss was backed by Forbes, which invested in the firm in March of 2008. Forbes Media announced the deal Thursday afternoon, but did not disclose any financial terms of the deal.

The second most active industry was Medical Devices and Equipment, which saw $103.37M in investments.
