X1 Finds $5.1M More For Ediscovery Efforts

Pasadena-based e-discovery software developer X1 has raised $5.1M more in a Series B funding round, the company said Wednesday, in a round led by Palisades Growth Capital. The round also included angel investor George Kadifa, the former head of HP Software. X1 is led by CEO Craig Carpenter and CTO Brent Botta.

X1 Claims Strong Growth

Pasadena-based enterprise search software developer X1 --one of the longest running offshoots of Idealab--reported today that it had a "record" sales year for the company in 2014. The company said it saw a sales increase of nearly 70 percent over 2013. Actual company financials were not announced.

Ixia Names New CFO

Calabasas-based Ixia , the network testing hardware and software developer, said Tuesday that it has named Brent Novak as its new Chief Financial Officer. Novak has been Ixia''s VP of Finance since 2006, and was appointed acting CFO of the company in March. Novak also has served at Idealab and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

UberMedia Names VP

Pasadena-based UberMedia , the Idealab-backed developer of mobile and desktop messaging and social media apps, is announcing this morning that it has hired Ken Rudman as its Vice President of Developer Relations. Rudman joins the company from AT&T Interactive, where he was Director of the Developer Program and Platform.
