Los Angeles-based DAQRI , a startup which is developing augmented reality headsets and software, has selected contract manufacturer Flex to build its AR headsets. Flex (formerly known as Flextronics) said it will start manufacturing DAQRI's headsets in Cork, Ireland, beginning this summer. READ MORE>>.

Los Angeles-based Daqri , a developer of augmented reality technology, announced this morning that it has raised $15M in a private equity funding. DAQRI said that Troy Carter, founder of the Atom Factory, joins the company''s board with the funding. DAQRI is headed by Brian Mullins. READ MORE>>.

The company has now raised $4.8M As part of the funding, Fika's Eva Ho has joined the company's board, which also included Bill Gross of Idealab and Elementary co-founder and CEO Arye Barnehama. Barnehama previously founded wearables technology firm Melon, which was sold to DAQRI. READ MORE>>.

Elementary Robotics was co-founded by Bill Gross, the brains behind an increasingly resurgent Idealab incubator, and Arye Barnehama, a former head of design at the augmented reality startup DAQRI. That was around 2017, when the two first began brainstorming how they would build their company.
