Soraa , the LED lighting company which is using technology developed by UCSB inventor Shuji Nakamura, has rolled out a new LED lamp product in the common PAR20 format. Soraa--which has operations in Goleta, but does its manufacturing in Fremont--said its new LED lamp is 85% more energy efficient than standard, halogen lamps.

Soraa , the UC Santa Barbara spinout which develops LED lighting technology, says it has installed its lamps at the Idemitsu Museum of Arts in Tokyo, Japan. Soraa said it was specifically selected to replace "dated" halogen lamps. Financial impact of the win was not announced. READ MORE>>.

LED lighting developer Soraa , which developed LED lighting which is based on technology developed at UC Santa Barbara, reported today that its LED lighting is being used at Madame Tussauds San Francisco. Soraa is a developer of Gallium-Nitride (GaN) based LED lamp technology.

Canoga Park-based Topanga Technologies , a developer of high efficiency, plasma lighting, has scored $15M in new funding, according to regulatory filings from the firm. Details on the funding have not been announced by the company.

The Los Angeles company said Tuesday that it has launched two offerings, CloudTech Premium Support, and upgraded its DV Managed service. However, the firm is looking to further differentiate itself in a crowded hosting market through its services. According to Media Temple, the new tools are aimed at enhancing the experience of its customers.
