Investors love to fund growth and scaling of a proven business model for entrepreneurs, and they avoid at all costs funding research and development for engineers. Certainly there are many examples of great companies led by engineers, including Microsoft with Bill Gates, Oracle with Larry Ellison, and Google with Larry Page.

We're looking at it as an alternative to Taleo, SuccessFactors, Cornerstone On Demand, and so on. As you know, SuccessFactors was bought by SAP, Taleo was bought by Oracle, and the only independent companies left are Cornerstone OnDemand and Workday.
