If you're a web publisher, or even a brand developing your own outreach to customers through a newsletter or microsite, how do you efficiently gather and curate all of the news and information out there? I ran that between 2001 and 2008, and then left to start what has become PublishThis. That's expensive, and takes a lot more people.

Guardian News & Media , the firm behind web publisher ContentNext , is in discussions with potential buyers about a possible sale, according to a report from the firm's own site, paidContent. Michael Jones Gets Exit At Thing Labs

Michael Jones , CEO of MySpace and former founder of Userplane, has another exit under his belt today, as AOL announced it has acquired Thing Labs , a San Francisco maker of web-based, social software. Thing Labs makes the Brizzly web-based software for sharing and discovering content. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed.

Metaplace Embeds Virtual Worlds

San Diego-based Metaplace , the online virtual world startup headed by Raph Koster, disclosed today that the firm is now allowing users to easily embed virtual worlds into any web page. Metaplace said that web users can now embed the firm's Flash-based virtual worlds into blogs or webpages.
