Santa Monica-based GumGum , which operates an online digital advertising platform aimed at visual content, said Tuesday that it has named John Weisgerber as its new Senior Vice President of Sales. Weisgerber was most recently at Hearst Corp., serving as Executive Director of Digital Advertising in the area of Fashion and Luxury. He also has served at Forbes Media and Ziff-Davis Publishing.

WD Extends Performance Desktop Drive Capacity To 6 TB

Irvine-based hard drive maker WD is extending the capacity of its performance desktop hard drives to 6TB, the company announced today. WD said its 3.5 inch, 7200 RPM WD Black hard drives now support up to 6TB, and are aimed at high performance customers like gamers and professionals. The SATA hard drives were most recently only available at up to 4TB in capacity.

Peach Raises $8M To Expand Beyond San Diego, Seattle

Lunch delivery service Peach , which provides office dwellers in San Diego and Seattle with an algorithm-driven, curated lunch service, is expanding beyond its two initial markets, into Boston and DC, thanks to a new $8M funding round. Peach said the funding round comes from Madrona Venture Group and Vulcan Capital. Peach is based in Seattle, but has been in San Diego since May.

Carpinteria-based Freudenberg Medical , which develops minimally invasive devices for the medical device and pharmaceutical industry, announced this morning that it has acquired the majority of German medical product developer Hemoteq AG. Hemoteq develops surface coating technologies used in medical devices. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed.
