Internet Brands Buys The Frugal Travel Guy

Los Angeles-based Internet Brands is building out its travel vertical today, saying that it has acquired The Frugal Travel Guy , an online travel blog. Internet Brands said the acquisition will help it bolster the lineup of travel sites its owns, including FlyerTalk, Wikitravel, and CruiseMates. READ MORE>>.

Webb Alert Shuts Down

According to Webb in a post on the site, the video blog is going offline after X-Play went to taping five episodes a week at the beginning of the year. Webb started the project in August of 2007, featuring on-site ads and a "tip jar" for viewers to contribute toward the show. Webb is based in Los Angeles.

Internet Brands Brisco: Deal Will Allow More Focus On Long Term Growth

In a blog post , Brisco said that the firm decided to become a private firm again, because it would be a "good deal" for shareholders, and also said it could become "even more focused" on long-term growth. The firm changed its name to Internet Brands in June of 2005, and hit the markets with its IPO in November of 2007.
