Break.com, Yoostar In Joint Promotion

Los Angeles-based Break Media , which operates a network of male-centric content web sites, said today that it has linked with home entertainment system company Yoostar in a promotion. According to Break,it is teaming up with Yoostar for a special, featured channel on the site focused on the "Yoostar Casting Tour" competition.

Stroome Powers Comedy Film Festival

Los Angeles-based Stroome said today that it is powering an online competition for the 2010 Friars Club Comedy Film Festival. According to Stroome and the comedy club, it will give free submission to the top 3 short videos entered on Stroome's site, for consideration to include at the festival.

SoCal Firms In X PRIZE Auto Contest

Aptera recently raised $24M from Idealab, Google, and a number of other backers for its composite, lightweight hybrid electric vehicles; Kinetix Motors is currently raising financing, according to its web site. The X PRIZE competition will begin in 2009, with winners awarded in 2010.
