TrueCar--which offers up automotive pricing information and automotive configuration and quoting software--said the sales came from more than 5,500 dealer partners. According to TrueCar, its 700,000th vehicle sold was a new 2013 Mazda CX-5 purchase in Elgin, Illinois, using GEICO Car Buying Service, powered by TrueCar.

We viewed this as a central marketplace which would allow drivers to be put in the driving seat, get paid what they want, go where they want to go, and get paid the market price, and would help solve this issue.

Seasonal sales fluctuations eat cash. Fluctuating sales means more inventory is required to cover the ups and downs. Sales volumes are still ramping up while marketing expenses are at max. These are “up front” costs that can’t wait the four or five months before the sales and revenue catch up.
