This was 2005 when I had no exits under my belt, no blogs … nobody was looking. And a fourth partner – Jennifer Massey – will join from an entertainment background. Nearly everybody in the DC region had told me, “You must meet Mike. He knows every startup & VC in town.” He was a mensch.

I moved to the Santa Monica office of Microsoft Consulting Service. That was five or six years ago, 2005 or so. We've also been working on a location, and we have some places identified in west LA, Santa Monica. I moved to Southern California in 1992, when Microsoft transferred me to here.
