Zovio Boosts Hiring In San Diego

Chandler, Arizona-based Zovio , a provider of education technology services, says it plans to boost hiring in San Diego, as well as in Chandler, Arizona and Denver, Colorado, as a result of soaring unemployment due to the coronavirus pandemic. Bruce Bigelow , the San Diego editor for Xconomy , has died, according to the publication, which has provided coverage of San Diego's biotech industry. Bigelow had been part of the San Diego Union-Tribune until 2008, when he left for Xconomy. Bigelow was 63. According to Xconomy, Bigelow checked into a hospital with difficulty breathing and other symptoms last weekend, and was put on life support early last week; Bigelow died on June 29th.
