Los Angeles-based venture investor TenOneTen Ventures is one of the investors in a newly launched startup, which is looking to use artificial intelligence and DNA testing to identify autism and other medical conditions. According to Probably Genetic , it has raised a round of venture capital funding from Khosla Ventures, TenOneTen Ventures, the Oxford Angel FUnd, as well as angels. The startup recently graduated from Y Combinator, and is based in the Bay Area.

Greycroft Backs Enboarder In $8M Funding


Los Angeles-based venture investor Greycroft Ventures is the lead investor in the Series A funding for Enboarder , a startup in the human resources and employee onboarding market, the company said Wednesday morning. According to Enboarder, it raised $8M in its Series A financing round, which was led by Greycroft, and also included Next Coast Ventures and Stage 2 Capital. According to Enboarder, it has now raised a total of $12M.

San Diego-based ZeaKal >, a startup developing plant genetics technology to increase photosynthesis, improve plant yield and enhance nutritional profiles for a variety of agricultural crops, has raised $10M in a funding round, which came from investor Canopy Rivers. According to Canopy Rivers, which announced the investment, it now owns approximately 8.7 percent of ZeaKal. As part of the funding, it will take an observer seat on ZeaKal's board of directors.

Verify Expands In Germany


Irvine-based Verify , a provider of supplier performance management solutions for aerospace, high-technology, and other industries, said it has established a new, European subsidiary in Hamburg, Germany. According to Verify, its new subsidiary, Verify Deutschland GmbH will provide its full suite of solutions. El Segundo-based toy maker Mattel has linked with Apple to launch a new, "connected" toy around its Hot Wheels cars, the company said Friday. According to Mattel, its new Hot Wheel Race Portal is a digital accessory which connects into existing Hot Wheels tracks, and allows users to track their vehicles, track speeds and lap counts, and interact with their information via a companion app.
