That is excluding a single line of code or paying any salaries. At the time we viewed Amazon’s offering, EC2 as too nascent. Factual was created in 2007 by Gil Elbaz, the founder of Applied Semantics. No wonder people had to raise $5 million just to get started back then. We raised $16.5 million in our A round.
